James River Church: South Campus

As one of the largest and most impactful projects in Kingdom Design’s portfolio, the James River Church South Campus represents a comprehensive, purpose-driven approach to large-scale ministry design. In partnership with Buxton Kubik Dodd and JE Dunn, we provided full-scope interior design services for this 150,000 square foot facility, creating a highly functional and deeply inspiring space for worship, community, and spiritual formation.

The South Campus blends modern architecture with natural materials and curated moments of softness and strength. Expansive lobbies and commons areas were designed with intentional flow and flexible gathering zones, inviting connection before and after services. Warm woods, textured surfaces, and carefully layered lighting contribute to an atmosphere that’s both welcoming and reverent.

Key program areas include a state-of-the-art worship auditorium, engaging children’s environments, and beautifully designed ministry offices and classrooms. Every space was carefully considered to serve multi-generational needs while maintaining a cohesive design identity reflective of James River’s vision and values.

This facility is more than a building—it’s a spiritual home for thousands, crafted with excellence and humility to serve the local church and glorify God.
